CAT Allows DPMs to Continue in Current Positions Until Further Orders

SRINAGAR: The Central Administrative Tribunal has stayed the reversion of district programme managers to block programme managers by the Department of Rural Development Department.

In an order, the CAT’s Srinagar bench stayed the reversion order, allowing the applicants to continue as district programme managers.

“In the meantime, it is directed that the operation and effect of the impugned orders shall remain stayed, and the applicants shall continue to hold and discharge the duties of District Programme Manager until further orders of the Tribunal,” the CAT directed.

The applicants were promoted from BPM to DPM but were reverted to their previous posts, allegedly affecting their service seniority and retiral benefits.

The respondents sought six weeks’ time to file their reply, which was granted by the Tribunal. The case has been listed for hearing on October 15, 2025. (KNO)
