Bilal Gani Lone, Sheikh Khursheed, Civil Society Groups Pay Tributes to Sofi Gh Mohi-ud-Din on 10th Death Anniversary – Alfaaz – The Words

Srinagar: On the 10th death anniversary of former Cabinet Minister Sofi Gh Mohi-ud-Din, a host of political leaders, civil society members, and trade bodies paid glowing tributes to his legacy and contributions.

Among those who remembered Sofi included senior political leader Bilal Gani Lone, Traders Federation Handwara, Traders Federation Qalamabad, Civil Society Handwara, Mawer Langate, Young Journalists Association Kupwara (YJAK), and MLA Langate-cum-acting AIP President Haji Sheikh Khurshid Ahmad, along with Mushtaq Mawer and others.

In a statement issued to Alfaaz – The Words, Bilal Gani Lone said he shared a personal bond with Sofi Sahib and had the privilege of working under his mentorship. “I will fondly remember his compassionate guidance and his willingness to share his experiences with the younger generation. Sofi Sahib was an inspiring figure, a great teacher, and I personally learnt a lot from him. I pray for his soul to rest in eternal peace,” Lone said.

He further highlighted Sofi’s vision of politics as a tool of reform, noting that as a Cabinet Minister he worked tirelessly for the holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir. “Sofi Sahib was a self-respecting, seasoned, and thinking politician. Despite political differences, he always rose above party lines and treated everyone with respect. His untimely demise created a void in J&K’s political landscape that remains unfilled,” Lone added.
