Kupwara: In a bid to promote sustainable development in Jammu and Kashmir’s rural areas, the Bharat CSR Network, led by its Chairman Dr. Sajid Saiyed, visited Dardpora Lolab in Kupwara district on Monday to announce a series of developmental projects under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The visit marks part of the Network’s broader mission to support local communities through targeted CSR interventions in health, education, environment, and livelihood. Dr. Sajid was accompanied by a women’s delegation and owner of Top Tour and Travel Company Mohd Shafi who currently is in the Valley to promote Kashmir’s tourism and cultural heritage.
The team’s visit was facilitated by Advocate Sajid Yousuf Shah, whose invitation brought the Bharat CSR Network to Dardpora. During the visit, the delegation held meetings with local stakeholders, including the district administration and the Additional Commissioner Revenue (ACR), to identify priority areas for development and partnership.
Dr. Sajid announced a series of CSR initiatives aimed at improving living standards in the region. These include the establishment of modern health centres in underserved areas, setting up AI labs and digital classrooms in local schools, creation of waste management facilities, implementation of clean water and remediation projects, and development of training centres for self-help groups in Lolab to enhance livelihood opportunities.
Appreciating the cooperation of the District Administration Kupwara, including the Deputy Commissioner, ACR Kupwara, SDM Lolab, Tehsildar Lalpora, and the District Police, Dr. Sajid reaffirmed the Network’s commitment to long-term engagement with local communities. “We are here to invest in projects that make a real difference in people’s lives,” he said.
Adv. Sajid Yousuf Shah welcomed the Bharat CSR Network’s initiatives, describing them as a meaningful step toward inclusive growth in one of the remotest parts of north Kashmir.
The projects are expected to roll out in phases later this year, following feasibility studies and community consultations currently underway. The Bharat CSR Network’s intervention in Kupwara represents a significant stride toward fostering inclusive and sustainable development in Jammu and Kashmir.
