Authorities Conduct Locker Checks at GMC Handwara – Alfaaz – The Words

Handwara: In line with the heightened vigilance measures being carried out across health institutions in Jammu and Kashmir, the Handwara Police, acting on the directions of SSP Handwara and in coordination with the district administration, on Friday conducted an extensive checking drive at Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara.

During the exercise, officials, as per Alfaaz – The Words, inspected multiple sections of the campus, with a particular focus on student and staff lockers. The objective, they said, was to verify proper use of storage spaces, ensure compliance with institutional protocols, and prevent any potential misuse.

Authorities added that the inspections are essential for maintaining transparency, ensuring discipline, and reinforcing the overall security framework within the college.

The inspection was carried out in the presence of the Tehsildar Handwara and the Station House Officer (SHO) Handwara, who supervised the process to ensure it followed established procedures. Authorities noted that such drives will continue periodically as part of routine administrative and security measures.

Notably, the drive comes at a time when similar inspection and verification exercises have recently been undertaken in hospitals across the Valley, as part of a broader security review across the health sector.
