ATM guard dies after electrocution at home

Baramulla, Sep 13: A 36-year-old man died on Friday after suffering a fatal electric shock at his residence in Gundalwash area of Kunzer in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The deceased, identified as Javeed Ahmad Peer, son of Noordin Peer, was working as a security guard with an automated teller machine (ATM) facility.

According to family members, Peer was at home when he accidentally came in contact with a live electrical connection. He collapsed immediately after the shock. Relatives rushed him to the Sub District Hospital Magam, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident. [KNT]
