Army soldier laid to rest with full military honours

Rajouri, Dec 17: The Indian Army on Wednesday paid r solemn tributes to Naib Subedar Zubair Ahmed, who laid down his life in the line of duty.

Naib Subedar Zubair Ahmed, a resident of Chowdhary Nar, Rattal in Rajouri district, was presently deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara. He sustained fatal injuries in an explosion while on duty, leading to his martyrdom on December 15.

The mortal remains of the fallen soldier were brought to his native village, where thousands of people from the area assembled to pay their last respects, reflecting the deep respect and pride of the nation for its brave son.

His last rites were performed with military honours as the army personnel laid wreaths on his mortal remains and a ceremonial gun salute was also offered in his honour.

Naib Subedar Zubair Ahmed had been serving the Indian Army for the past 23 years and was known for his dedication, discipline and unwavering commitment to the nation.
