Army School Srinagar nominates footballer Beig Fardeen for state award

Srinagar, Aug 13: Army Public School, BB Cantt, Srinagar, has recommended Class X student and national-level footballer Beig Fardeen Shamim for the State Award in the U-15 category, citing his standout performances at national tournaments and selection for upcoming international trials in Austria and Germany.

In a statement issued, according to reports, Fardeen has been a standout talent from a young age, representing the J&K Sports Council Football Academy and participating in three national-level tournaments. He was the first player from the under-12 category in Jammu and Kashmir to be selected for the Sub-Junior National Football Championship held in Andhra Pradesh and later represented the state team at the Junior National Championship in Assam, earning trophies and national certificates from the All India Football Federation (AIFF).

Fardeen’s consistent performances have also earned him selection for upcoming international trials in Austria and Germany, chosen from among more than 13,000 football players and students across Jammu and Kashmir.

Principal of APS Srinagar Rajeev Choudhary said his journey reflects both exceptional individual merit and the growing football talent in the Union Territory, adding that his dedication, discipline, and competitive record bring pride to the school and the region. The management has formally forwarded his name for the State Award U-15 category.
