Army Foils Infiltration Bid Along LoC in Uri, One Soldier Killed in Action – Alfaaz – The Words

Uri (Baramulla): An infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of North Kashmir was foiled by the Army, resulting in a fierce exchange of fire, officials said on Wednesday.

The gunfight, the officials, erupted when troops detected suspicious movement of heavily armed infiltrators attempting to breach the LoC. In the ensuing encounter, one Army soldier was killed in action.

The Army has launched a counter-infiltration operation in the area, which also includes measures against possible Border Action Team (BAT) involvement. Intensive search operations are currently underway to track down any remaining infiltrators.
