Srinagar, Jun 26: Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari has expressed concern over the reported ill health of Dr. Abdul Hameed Fayaz, the former Ameer-e-Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir, who is currently incarcerated at Srinagar Central Jail.

Bukhari urged the administration to ensure that Dr. Fayaz receives immediate and adequate medical attention.

In a statement shared on social media, Bukhari emphasized that access to healthcare is a basic constitutional right, regardless of one’s political or ideological background.

“Political differences aside, those who are in jail are entitled to the basic rights granted to them by the Constitution of this country. Access to appropriate medical treatment is one of those fundamental rights,” Bukhari stated.
He appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, seeking his intervention. “I request the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Ji (@manojsinha_) to direct the concerned authorities to ensure that Dr. Abdul Hameed Fayaz receives the necessary treatment without any delay,” Bukhari added.
