The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has released the official notification for the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET)-9 for the year 2025. The examination is being conducted for the recruitment of Nursing Officer posts in various AIIMS institutions across India.
As per the notification, there are a total of 3500 posts. The upper age limit is 30 years for UR/EWS candidates, with applicable relaxations for reserved categories. The salary for the Nursing Officer post is Level-07 in the Pay Matrix (pre-revised Pay Band-2 of Rs. 9300–34800 with Grade Pay of Rs. 4600). Selection will be done through NORCET Preliminary and NORCET Main exams.
Candidates who fulfill the eligibility conditions can apply online at www.aiimsexams.ac.in from 22 July 2025. The last date to apply is 11 August 2025 up to 5:00 PM. Qualification: For the post of Nursing Officer, candidates must possess:
B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing or Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council OR Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery along with two years of experience in a minimum 50-bed hospital after registration as a nurse and midwife.
All applicants must be registered with the State/Indian Nursing Council.
Age Limit: The age limit is 18 to 30 years as on 11 August 2025. Relaxations are applicable as per rules:
OBC – 3 years
SC/ST – 5 years
PwBD – 10 years + category relaxation

Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply through the AIIMS Exams official portal at www.aiimsexams.ac.in.
The application fee is Rs. 3000/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 2400/- for SC/ST/EWS candidates. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempted from payment. The fee must be paid online.
Selection Process:
Selection will be done on the basis of a two-stage examination:
NORCET Preliminary (qualifying exam) and NORCET Main (merit-based). The Preliminary exam will have 100 MCQs and the Main exam will have 160 MCQs, all in CBT mode. Final selection will be based on the Main exam scores, subject to document verification and medical fitness.
