Absconder arrested after 2 yrs in Samba

Jammu, Oct 12: Police Sunday arrested an absconder, evading arrest for the last 2 years, in R S Pura, Jammu.

“In a breakthrough, a team from Police Station R S Pura successfully apprehended a long-time absconder wanted in an POCSO case. The accused had been evading his arrest for years, but persistent efforts by the police led to his capture, ensuring that justice is served,” Police said.

The accused Showkat Hussain alias Shonku, son of Qasim Din alias Hashim Din, resident of Magar Khad of Kathua, at present W No12 Parliwand near Government High School, Kathua was wanted in case FIR No 68/2023 under section 363/376/109 IPC 3/4/16/17 POCSO Act of P/S R S Pura.
