Second Grand Annual Seerah Competition Held at Jamia Masjid Srinagar

SRINAGAR: The Jamia Masjid Srinagar on Sunday hosted the Result Declaration and Prize Distribution Ceremony of the 2nd Grand Annual Seerah Competition – 2025, organised by Maktabah Maseeh-ul-Ummah in collaboration with the Mirwaiz Foundation.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across the Valley, who displayed their understanding and devotion towards the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Mirwaiz Umar graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and congratulated the winners and participants. In his address, he lauded the spirit of young learners and emphasised that studying the Seerah of the Prophet (SAW) nurtures values of truthfulness, compassion, humility, and service to humanity.

“True success lies not only in acquiring knowledge but in embodying good character and moral conduct inspired by the Prophet’s example,” the Mirwaiz said.

During the ceremony, the winners were felicitated with medals, trophies, and cash prizes for their exceptional performances.

A key highlight of the event was the release of a special edition of Para Amma, featuring the Kashmiri translation of Bayaan-ul-Furqaan authored by Muhajir-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Yousuf Shah (RA). The edition includes colour-coded Tajweed rules and aims to promote Qur’anic learning among children in their mother tongue.

Expressing gratitude to the organisers, sponsors, and volunteers, Mirwaiz termed the initiative “a noble and inspiring effort that strengthens the bond of youth with the Qur’an and the Prophet’s Seerah.”
