Kupwara: As part of the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, District Police Kupwara on Monday organized a one-day medical camp on drug abuse at District Police Lines (DPL) Kupwara. The camp focused on spreading awareness about the growing threat of substance abuse and encouraging community participation in building a drug-free society.

Medical experts, including Dr. Mehraj Din (Psychiatrist) and Dr. Shabnam Ara (Clinical Psychologist), delivered lectures on the psychological and social dimensions of addiction, stressing the need for early intervention, counseling, and rehabilitation.

Senior Prosecuting Officer Masrur Ahmad highlighted the importance of collective action by law enforcement agencies, healthcare professionals, and civil society in tackling the menace. He called for sustained awareness campaigns and stronger community engagement to protect youth from drug abuse.

The programme also saw participation from senior police officers and representatives of civil society, who pledged their support to the mission. DySP (DAR) Gulzar Rashid (JKPS) presented the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the speakers and participants. Memorandums of appreciation were presented to the guest experts in recognition of their contributions.
