Five Vehicles Seized in Central Kashmir for Illegal Mineral Mining

SRINAGAR: Police in Ganderbal have seized five vehicles for involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Nallah Sindh during a district-wide crackdown.

According to officials, the vehicles were intercepted within the jurisdictions of Police Station Kheerbawani, Police Station Gund, and Police Post Nagbal. The seized trucks were found illegally loaded with minerals extracted from the water body.

Cases under relevant legal provisions have been registered, and investigations have been initiated. Police said the action reflects their ongoing efforts in collaboration with the Geology and Mining Department to curb illegal mining in the district.

Authorities have appealed to the public to report unlawful activities, assuring complete confidentiality of informants. Police reiterated their commitment to take strict legal action against those indulging in illegal mineral extraction.
