
SRINAGAR: Police in Budgam today attached immovable property belonging to a notorious drug peddler in the Humhama area, continuing their intensified campaign against the drug menace.
The seized property is a double-storey residential house owned by Sahil Yousuf Bhat, son of Mohd Yousuf Bhat, a resident of Humhama. Officials estimated its market value at around Rs 50 lakh.
Authorities confirmed that the attachment was carried out under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The action is linked to Case FIR No. 110/2021, registered under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Budgam.
Police said the move is part of a sustained crackdown aimed at crippling the financial networks of drug traffickers to disrupt their operations and curb the spread of drugs in society.
