JKPTCL, KPDCL Announce Scheduled Power Shutdowns in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) and Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) on Wednesday announced scheduled power shutdowns across several districts to facilitate maintenance, stabilisation and infrastructure works.

According to officials, JKPTCL will carry out preventive maintenance on September 15, leading to shutdown of the 33KV Alusteng–Zakoora and Alusteng–Ganderbal feeders. As a result, the 33/11KV receiving stations at Umerhair, Alasteng, Nagbal, Gadoora and Tulbagh will remain off, disrupting supply to Ahmad Nagar, Umerhair, Buchpora, Shuhama, Bakura, Darend, Nagbal, Fatehpora, Gadoora, Tulbagh, Chunduna, Shairpathri and adjoining areas from 9 am to 1 pm.

On the same day, shutdown of the 33KV Alusteng–Power House feeder will impact the 33/11KV receiving stations at Power House, Manigam and Duderhama, affecting supply to Beehama, Arampora, Arch, Nuner, Manigam, Duderhama, Malshaibagh, Wayil, Gutlibagh and adjoining areas from 1 pm to 5 pm.

Meanwhile, KPDCL has also scheduled shutdowns for maintenance works. On September 16, power supply will be affected from 10 am to 1 pm in Zainakote, ICCC, Industrial HMT, Shalteng, Mujgund, Bakshipora and adjoining areas due to dismantling of a pole near Shalteng Receiving Station and connecting of a dedicated feeder for the Unani Hospital.

On September 14, supply to Gadsathoo, Panzan, Lalgam, Rangar, Kathairgound and adjoining areas will be disrupted from 10 am to 4 pm due to shutdown of the 33KV Chadoora–Panzan Tap line for tree-cutting works.

In Sopore, as per a separate schedule, shutdown of the 33KV Amargarh–Bandipora line will be observed on September 13 from 9 am to 2 pm to stabilise supply at Krankshivan Colony near Valley School. Power to Watlab, Tujjar, Dooru and adjoining areas will remain affected.

Officials advised residents in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements during the scheduled outages.
