SRINAGAR: Air India on Wednesday announced special flights between Delhi and Kathmandu to assist passengers stranded due to disruptions in Nepal, even as the Indian Embassy in Beijing issued an advisory for citizens travelling through the region amid interruptions to the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

The airline said two special flights are being operated today and tomorrow, with regular scheduled services expected to resume from tomorrow. “We thank the government and other agencies for the quick coordination to facilitate this in the interest of our passengers,” Air India stated, urging travellers to confirm flight status via its website or 24×7 call centre before heading to the airport.

Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Beijing issued an advisory cautioning pilgrims and other citizens after the prevailing situation in Nepal disrupted travel plans for those undertaking the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through private operators.

Indian nationals in Tibet Autonomous Region have been asked to exercise utmost caution, given the high-altitude terrain, and to strictly follow health precautions and directions from local authorities as well as Indian missions in Beijing and Kathmandu.

The embassy also shared emergency helplines: 0086-18514284905 (calls only) and 0086-13520657602 (WhatsApp/calls) for Beijing, and +977-9808602881 and +977-9810326134 (WhatsApp enabled) for Kathmandu.
