AIP President Er Rashid Brought from Tihar to Cast Vote in Vice-Presidential Election

SRINAGAR: Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) president and Baramulla MP Er Rashid was on Tuesday brought from Tihar Jail to Parliament under tight security to participate in the election for the Vice-President of India, the party said.

According to AIP chief spokesperson Inam Un Nabi, Rashid exercised his vote “as per his conscience”, supporting the candidate he believed would best respect the sentiments and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Inam Un Nabi further stated that despite his continued incarceration, Rashid “fearlessly represents the voice of the people with dignity” and remains committed to safeguarding the democratic rights of Kashmiris.
