KPDCL Schedules Power Cuts in Several Areas from 3–8 September

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in multiple areas across the Valley between 3rd and 8th September, to facilitate essential maintenance and infrastructure works.

On 7 September, power supply to Shalimar and surrounding areas, including SKUAST, Telibal, Arbal and Deewan Colony, will be affected due to installation works of 11 KV isolators. The 33KV GIS Theed Shalimar line will be shut down, leading to outages from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM and again from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.

On the same day, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, a shutdown of the 33 KV Chadoora-Panzan Tap line will be carried out to enable pruning of Chinar trees near the Tehsil Office, Chadoora. This will impact power supply to Panzan, Rangar, Gadsathoo, Lalgam, Kathairgound and adjoining areas.

Meanwhile, augmentation work on the 33 KV Watrehail Parthan line will necessitate shutdowns on 3 and 7 September, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Areas affected include Samsaan, Parthan, Watrehail, Charangam, and the PHE Substation.

In a separate development on 3 September, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, power outages will occur in BK Pora, Khanda, Checkpora, Chattergam, Summerbugh, Wagoora, Wadipora, and Aribagh due to height-raising work on the double circuit lines at Pahroo and Lasjan Bypass. The 33KV BK Pora line will be shut during this period.

Additionally, to allow tree-cutting operations by All India and HPT authorities, along with replacement of worn-out components on the 33 KV Sanoor Tap line, the 33KV Shariefabad-Narbal line will be shut down on 4 and 8 September, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This will disrupt supply to Narbal, Mazhama, Kawoosa, Sozeith, Lawaypora, Malpora, Radbugh, and the Mazhama Railway Station.

KPDCL has urged residents in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements and has assured that efforts will be made to complete the works within the stipulated  timeframes.
