
Jammu, Aug 31: In view of continuous heavy rains, landslides in hilly areas, and flood-like situations across the Jammu Division, the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has directed all Chief Education Officers and heads of institutions to ensure an urgent safety audit of school buildings.
According to a communication issued by the DSEJ to CEO’s HOD’s intitutions, officials have been instructed to immediately coordinate with the Public Works (R&B) Department to conduct a comprehensive structural safety audit of all government school buildings under their jurisdiction. The order stresses that safety certificates must be obtained from competent authorities on priority.
The directive further instructs officers to personally monitor the process and ensure strict compliance, warning that any lapse will be viewed seriously.
The order has been marked as “Most Urgent” in light of the prevailing weather conditions.
