Jammu Cannot Afford a Health Disaster After Floods: Gaurav
JK News Today
Jammu, August, 28: BJP Spokesperson for J&K UT, Sh. Gaurav Gupta, has raised serious concern over the situation emerging after the recent floods in Jammu. He said that, apart from the destruction of property and livelihood, the unattended carcasses of animals have created a grave health hazard for the people.
Gupta cautioned that if these carcasses are not removed immediately and disposed of scientifically, they may contaminate drinking water sources and cause outbreaks of diseases such as cholera, typhoid, and other life-threatening infections.
He appealed to the District Administration, Jammu Municipal Corporation, and Animal Husbandry Department to act on war footing by deploying dedicated teams for identification, removal, and proper disposal of the dead animals through deep burial with lime or incineration. He also emphasized the need for intensive disinfection drives in the affected areas.
Gupta urged the public to extend full cooperation to the authorities, maintain hygiene, and promptly report such cases to prevent any epidemic-like situation.
Reiterating the commitment of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji and Hon’ble Home Minister Amit Shah Ji towards citizen welfare during calamities, Gupta assured that BJP J&K stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of Jammu and will fully support the administration in ensuring timely relief and preventive measures.
