Police Recover Arms, Ammunition Cache from Forest Area in North Kashmir – Alfaaz – The Words

Srinagar: In a major breakthrough against anti-national activities, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Handwara Police recovered a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and other incriminating materials during a search operation in Bhuvan Forest, Rajwar.

According to officials, the items were found buried underground, and included; 22 UBGL grenades, 1 Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), 15 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, approximately half a kilogram of suspected explosive material (black powder), a gas cylinder and stove, cooking utensils, and groceries (sugar, oil, salt, dry milk, turmeric), tarpaulins (03), a pair of shoes, and other logistic items, weapon cleaning oil (approx. ½ litre).

The recovery is seen as a major setback to the plans of militant groups operating in the region. Police said the seizure has effectively foiled potential militancy activities and further strengthened the security grid in the area.
