SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday visited Jammu to take stock of the worsening flood situation caused by continuous heavy rainfall across the region.
LG Sinha rushed to Jammu earlier in the day to review the ground situation and direct officials to step up relief and rescue measures.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also visited flood-affected areas of Jammu, where he interacted with people and assured that all necessary measures would be taken to safeguard lives and extend relief to vulnerable communities.
Authorities said joint rescue and relief operations are in full swing, with disaster management teams placed on high alert across flood-hit districts. (KNC)
