House Collapses Partially During Religious Meet in North Kashmir; Over 2 Dozen Women Hospitalized – Alfaaz – The Words

Kupwara: A religious gathering in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district turned tragic on Sunday afternoon when a residential house partially collapsed in Pohrupeth area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, leaving over two dozen women injured.

Witnesses said that nearly fifty women had gathered in the hall of the house’s second floor when the structure gave way, causing panic and trapping several inside.

Locals, along with rescue teams, rushed to the spot and pulled the women out of the debris. The injured were first shifted to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Chogal and later referred to Associated District Hospital, GMC Handwara, for specialized care.

Officials said that while most of the women are stable, the condition of some remains under close observation.
