Rajnath Singh Visits Chashoti Cloudburst Victims in Jammu, Says PM Monitoring Situation

SRINAGAR: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday visited GMC Jammu to review the condition of patients injured in the Chashoti cloudburst incident, assuring that the Prime Minister is personally monitoring the situation.

Singh, who interacted with the victims, said he was relieved to find all the injured out of danger. “The Prime Minister is personally monitoring this situation. I could not visit the site due to weather, but I am satisfied to see all injured patients are stable. I want to thank the medical staff for the dedication they have shown,” he said.

The Defence Minister added that he, along with LG Manoj Sinha and Minister of State in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh, would hold a virtual interaction with families of those affected at Raj Bhavan.

On rehabilitation measures, Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma announced that reconstruction of Chashoti village would commence soon. “Before the winter sets in, we will ensure houses are rebuilt and those displaced are resettled. A comprehensive roadmap is being finalised,” Sharma said. (KNC)
