One Held in Srinagar, Heroin-like Substance Recovered: Police

SRINAGAR: Police on Thursday apprehended a man at SDA Colony, Bemina area of Srinagar and recovered a heroin-like substance from his possession.

A police officer said that the accused has been identified as Nazir Ahmed, son of Ali Mohammad Khanday, resident of Panzinara Mirpora, aged around 50 years.

“During a search, approximately 10 grams of a heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession,” he said.

In this regard, FIR No. 85/2025 has been registered at Police Station Bemina under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act. “Further investigation is in progress,” officer added. (KNC)
