SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today felicitated 122 langar organisations for their outstanding contribution to the successful conduct of this year’s Amarnath Yatra, describing their service as a shining example of India’s spirit of unity and compassion.

At a ceremony held at the Spiritual Growth Centre in Katra, the Lieutenant Governor congratulated the langar organisers. He expressed deep appreciation for their role in serving lakhs of devotees undertaking the annual pilgrimage.

“Today’s felicitation of Langar Organisations at Katra also carried a message that nothing can beat the spirit of India,” Sinha said. “The successful conduct of the holy pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji this year, with the unwavering determination of all stakeholders, has shown that we are second to none in the world. It is a vindication of our steadfast commitment to selfless service and a symbol of resurgent India.”

The Lieutenant Governor also commended the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, administrative staff, police and security forces, NGOs, volunteers, health professionals and all other stakeholders for their round-the-clock efforts during the Yatra. He noted that 95 per cent of pilgrims rated the services as “Very Good” under a real-time Rapid Assessment System that collected feedback on both routes to the shrine.

Highlighting moments that reflected the human side of the pilgrimage, Sinha referred to images of police and security personnel carrying devotees in need on their shoulders, “like their own family members.”

The Lieutenant Governor said langar organisations have consistently played a vital role in the annual Yatra, working with devotion and dedication to ensure that no pilgrim goes hungry along the arduous route to the cave shrine. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to improving facilities for devotees, noting that the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board is working on projects including a ropeway from Baltal to the holy cave.
