2 J&K Police officers killed in accident laid to rest with state honour

Jammu, Aug 12: Probationer Sub-Inspectors Shubham Seth and Sachin Verma of the Jammu and Kashmir Police were cremated Tuesday with full state honours in the Jammu and Samba districts, two days after they died in a road accident while returning from Amarnath Yatra duty.

The duo died in a motor accident at Tengpora Bypass in Srinagar on Sunday.

The last rites of Sub Inspector Shubham Seth were performed at Narwal Cremation Ground, Jammu, while Sachin Verma was cremated in Vijaypur amid heartrending scenes.

Senior Police officials and political leaders representing various parties and cross sections of society attended the last rites of both the PSIs.

Emotional tributes poured in from colleagues and friends, who remembered the officers as dedicated and hardworking young men.

Many recounted their professionalism during the recently concluded Amarnath Yatra, where they had worked long hours to ensure the safety of yatris.

The J&K Police expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families.

Officials said that the department had lost two promising officers whose careers were cut short, adding that their service would be remembered with honour.
