Srinagar, Aug 12: The High Court of J&K and Ladakh Tuesday warned of disciplinary action against its staff over not wearing prescribed uniform, saying attending the official duties in casual dress causes great indiscipline and affects the well-functioning of the Court.

A circular issued by Registrar General (Officiating) M.K Sharma, urged both gazetted and non-gazetted employees of the Court to wear the uniform.

According to the circular, it has been observed that the “officers and officials of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh do not wear the prescribed uniform and attend the office/official duties in casual dress which is causing great indiscipline and affects the well-functioning of High Court”

“Therefore, it is hereby impressed upon all the employees of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, whether Gazetted or Non-Gazetted (personal staff attached with the Officers of the Registry/staff of e Courts/I. T Section/Orderlies/Ushers/Drivers) that they shall maintain proper uniform as prescribed for their respective categories while attending office and during official duties.”

Non-compliance with the prescribed uniform norms shall be viewed seriously and may invite disciplinary action, the circular added.

The circular, which came into force with immediate effect, further indicated that all Controlling Officers should ensure strict adherence to these instructions by the staff under their control.
