Rajouri, Aug 7: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Thursday accused deliberate allocation of faulty vehicles to the ministers of Jammu and Kashmir government, including him, which he considered to be an attempt to stall public interaction of elected representatives.

He was replying to a question regarding the incident in which his official bulletproof vehicle suffered a serious technical snag near Pir Ki Gali on Mughal road and the vehicle had a narrow escape from accident.

Surinder Choudhary said that this is third incident of similar nature and he fortunately escaped safe in all.

“This is not the first incident but is third such incident during last couple of months and today’s incident only came to light as some journalists were also travelling on Mughal Road who themselves saw it happening,” said Choudhary.

” I have faced similar incidents twice earlier with first one happened near Kandi Tunnel on Jammu Rajouri National Highway while second one happened recently when I was on way to Shri Amarnath Yatra in Kashmir,” said Choudhary.

He accused allocation of deplorable, faulty and old vehicles to ministers of Jammu and Kashmir Government. “This is deliberate allocation to us and I think it’s an attempt to stall our movement and interaction with public but it is misconception of concerned stakeholders that our public service efforts will get stalled by such practices,” he added.

He stated, “We have been provided old vehicles and on the other hand the police officers are travelling in fresh vehicles.”

Surinder Choudhary further claimed to have brought this matter into the notice of Lieutenant Governor administration, Director General of Jammu and Kashmir police as well as Security Headquarters of police but for no result till now. “Will they conduct an audit of this issue after anyone among us suffer any serious accident”.
