Ramban, Jul 14: A blood donation camp was organised by Sant Nirankari Mission (SNM) for blood donors at Batote on Monday. At least 101 volunteers including 17 women affiliated with Sant Nirankari Mission donated blood in this camp.
The 101 units of blood was collected by a ten member team of doctors and technicians from Blood Transfusion Medicine Department Govt Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu led by Dr Anshu Mahajan and took the preserved blood to Jammu. The camp was inaugurated by the president Gandhi Global Family Jammu and Kashmir, Dr SP Verma in presence of Zonal incharge BP Singh and Mulkhraj Bhagat.
Verma appreciated the philanthropic missions of Sant Nirankari Mission across the world. Zonal Incharge BP Singh informed reporters that since 1986 when Baba Gurbachan Singh was assassinated, Sant Nirankari Mission has collected 14 lakh units of blood through 8,700 Blood Donation camps across India.
Among prominent persons SHO Batote, Inspector Vijay Kotwal, and Sant Nirankari Mandal Batote, Mulak Raj Bhagat also donated blood.
