
Rajouri, Jul 14: Police have successfully cracked a major theft case within 72 hours leading to the recovery of 120 grams of gold (worth approx rupees 12 lakh) and 530 grams of silver ornaments (worth approx rupees 65,000).
The case was registered on written complaint regarding the theft of gold ornaments from a jewellery shop in Nowshera. Accordingly FIR No. 90/2025 was registered under Sections 305(A), 331(3) BNS. Police said that acting swiftly, special investigation teams were constituted under senior officers and a swift investigation using technical surveillance and human intelligence led to the arrest of six inter-state thieves.
Police, in its official statement, said that the accused are part of an inter-state gang operating across Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. Further investigation is underway to identify their involvement in other criminal cases, police further said.
