3 bovine smuggling attempts foiled in Poonch

Poonch, Jul 6: Poonch police on Sunday said to have foiled three separate bovine smuggling attempts in area under Police Post Behramgalla on Mughal Road.

Police said that acting on specific inputs and as part of routine naka checking at Chandimarh, the team of Police Post Behramgalla intercepted three vehicles engaged in the illegal transportation of bovine animals under the guise of fake permission documents.

The vehicles included JK12A 2968 driven by Sajjad Ahmed, son of Mohd Taj, resident of Saral Haveli that was found carrying six bovines, vehicle JK12C-0701 driven by Waseem Sajjad son of Mumtaz Ahmed resident of Chaktroo Haveli that was carrying seven animals and vehicle JK12B-9949 driven by Mohd Shafiq son of Mohd Shafi resident of Chaktroo Haveli that was found carrying five bovines. A total of eighteen bovine animals have been successfully rescued, said police.
