Srinagar, Jul 3: Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Ram Nath Thakur on Thursday visited the Janta Dal United (JDU) Party Office in Srinagar to preside over an executive meeting of the party, said a statement.

The meeting brought together all District Presidents and Executive Members of JDU Jammu and Kashmir. Ram Nath Thakur emphasised the critical importance of strengthening the party at the grassroots level. He urged all district units to work diligently for the welfare of the public and prepare effectively for the upcoming Panchayat Elections, said the press release.

“The strength of any party lies at the booth level. Our district leaders must take responsibility to uplift every segment of society, especially the farmers, who are the backbone of this nation,” Thakur asserted.

During the session, State President GM Shaheen outlined the ongoing challenges faced by district leadership and party workers. He appealed for immediate support and intervention to address these pressing issues. GM Shaheen raised two major demands including waiver of Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loans for struggling farmers in Jammu & Kashmir, and regularization of daily-wage workers, who have been adversely affected for over three decades. In response, Ram Nath Thakur Ji assured full support, reaffirming the central leadership’s commitment to prioritizing the resolution of these long-standing concerns, said the party statement.
