Power Outages Scheduled Across Jammu Kashmir for Maintenance Works

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) have jointly announced scheduled power shutdowns across various areas of Jammu and Kashmir to facilitate essential infrastructure works, including pole erection, line maintenance and tree pruning. The planned outages will take place between June 28 and July 1, 2025.

In the Kashmir division, the Chief Engineer (Distribution), KPDCL informed that shutdowns will be observed on the 33kV Budgam-Kremshore and Budgam-Ichgam lines to carry out the erection of 13-metre-long ST poles. As a result, power supply to several areas will remain suspended from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on June 28 and July 1. Receiving stations at Kremshore, Khansahib, Raithan, and Brenwar will remain off, affecting areas including Old Kremshore, Arigam, Nunner, Shamsabad, Dreygam, Arampora, Shinipora, Yaikha, Bugroo and other adjoining localities.

Similarly, shutdowns will impact the HMT Budgam–Ichgam line on the same dates and during the same time period. Power supply will remain suspended at receiving stations in Ichgam, Choom, Kanir and Hanjura, impacting localities such as Barwah, Ichgam, Ichkoot, Choon, Bubagh, Razvain, Kanir, Hushur, Wagam, Zuhama, Hanjoora, Dadaompora and surrounding areas.

In addition to these maintenance activities, KPDCL will also carry out branch cutting of trees along the alignment of the 33kV Sheeri-Sultanpora and Sheeri-Gantamulla lines on July 1. Power supply will remain suspended at the Sultanpora and Gantamulla receiving stations from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, impacting the residents of Sultanpora, Gantamulla, Kitchama and neighbouring villages.

Meanwhile, in the Jammu division, JPDCL has notified shutdowns in several regions for maintenance work. On June 28, power will remain suspended from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM in Ashok Nagar and Shastri Nagar, while in Dachhan and Ikhala, electricity supply will be affected from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM on both June 28 and 29. Additionally, areas including Jakh, Sarore, Bari-Brahmana town and its adjoining industrial zones will experience shutdown from 5:30 AM to 9:00 AM on June 28.

On June 29, power supply will be suspended in Bhagwah, Kastigarh, Sazan and nearby areas from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Localities such as Kalibari, Patel Nagar, Sawan Chak, Govindsar, Chak Ludan, Police Line, PHE and CTM will witness outages from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Industrial consumers like M/s CTM and M/s MD Enterprises will face a brief disruption between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM. Vijaypur, Kolpur, Bandral and their adjoining areas will also see power cuts from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM on the same day.
