Jammu Kashmir: Two Children Swept Away in Flash Flood, One Rescued

SRINAGAR: Two children died and another was rescued after a flash flood struck the Sialsui area of Kalakote tehsil in Rajouri district early Thursday morning.

An official said, “Three children were swept away in a sudden flash flood triggered by heavy rainfall. Sadly, two of them died on the spot, while one was rescued by locals and taken to a nearby medical facility.”

He added that a rescue team, along with police and local residents, responded swiftly to the incident. “The administration is providing all necessary support to the bereaved families, and efforts are underway to assess the situation and ensure safety in the area,” he said.

Authorities have advised residents living near water bodies and vulnerable locations to remain alert and take precautions during the ongoing rainy spell. (JKNS)
