Labourer critically injured as tractor falls off bridge in Lolab

Kupwara, Jun 06: A labourer sustained serious injuries after a tractor reportedly plunged off a bridge in the Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district during the early hours of Saturday.

Reports reaching Alfaaz – The Words said that the tractor met with an accident and fell from Badibera Bridge under circumstances that are yet to be ascertained. The driver of the vehicle allegedly fled the scene immediately after the incident.

The injured labourer was identified as Javid Ahmad Lone, son of Mohammad Jamal Lone, a resident of Laystiyal, Kalroose. He suffered serious injuries in the accident.

Soon after the incident, local residents rushed to the spot and shifted the injured man to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sogam for treatment. However, owing to the severity of his injuries, doctors referred him to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for specialised medical care.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated necessary proceedings. Further investigation is underway.
