Six Family Members Injured as Vehicle Skids Off Road in South Kashmir | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Six members of a family were injured, including children, after a vehicle skidded off the road and rolled down a slope near Dubjan on the Mughal Road in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday.

Officials said the accident occurred under the jurisdiction of Police Station Heerpora when a Swift car (registration number JK11D-4114) travelling from Rajouri towards Shopian went out of control, allegedly after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Sunil Sharma, also sustained injuries in the accident.

The injured have been identified as Rajesh Kumar, son of Ramesh Kumar; Pallavi Chandan, wife of Rajesh Kumar; Aarav Kumar, son of Rajesh Kumar; Prachi, daughter of Rajesh Kumar; and Dua Kumar, son of Vijay Kumar. All the injured are residents of Rajouri.

Soon after the incident, rescue teams and local authorities reached the spot and shifted all the injured to District Hospital Shopian for treatment.

Hospital sources said the injured were admitted for medical care and are under observation, with doctors assessing their condition.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further proceedings. (KNT)
