
Srinagar, Jun 4: Exciting matches marked the latest round of the Alfa Hockey Interschool Tournament as Budding School Baramulla, Jalali English Medium School Tral, Birla Open Mind International School Pampore, and EFF EEN Higher Secondary School Anantnag registered victories to advance in the competition on Thursday.
In the opening match of the day, Budding School Baramulla, as per a statement, delivered a dominant performance, defeating Woodland School Srinagar by a massive 7-0 margin. Veerpratap Singh emerged as the star performer and was adjudged Man of the Match for his outstanding display.
The second match witnessed Jalali English Medium School Tral overcome Hyder School Tullmula, Ganderbal, by 3-1. Mosin played a key role in his team’s victory and was named Man of the Match.
In another fixture, Birla Open Mind International School Pampore secured a win over T.B. Shah School Anantnag to book its place in the next round.
The fourth and final match of the day proved to be a closely contested affair as EFF EEN Higher Secondary School Anantnag edged past UPS DorporeShopian 1-0. Azhar’s impressive performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
The tournament, being organised to promote hockey at the grassroots level, has witnessed enthusiastic participation from schools across the Valley. The competition is providing a valuable platform for young players to showcase their talent and gain competitive exposure.
