
SRINAGAR: Two people were injured on Tuesday after a tree was uprooted by strong winds and fell in the Ganjiwara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said.
Reports received stated that the roadside tree came down amid strong gusty winds near Ganjiwara, leading to disruption of vehicular movement on the stretch connecting the market area with Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag.
Officials said two civilians, reportedly residents of Shangus, sustained injuries in the incident and were taken to GMC Anantnag for medical treatment.
Soon after the incident, police along with other concerned departments reached the spot and initiated clearance operations. One side of the road has been made operational for traffic, while efforts continue to fully restore normal movement.
