SRINAGAR: Passengers travelling from Delhi to Srinagar on a SpiceJet flight on Monday experienced delays, leading to inconvenience and prolonged waiting at the airport.
According to passengers, SpiceJet flight SG-160, scheduled to depart Delhi at 7:05 am and arrive in Srinagar at 10:05 am, did not take off as planned, resulting in uncertainty among travellers.
“We were informed about the delay after reaching the airport. Initially, there was no clear update on the departure time,” said a passenger at the terminal.
Another passenger said the disruption affected onward travel arrangements in Kashmir.
“I had organised transport from Srinagar airport and informed my family about my arrival time. The delay has disrupted all those plans,” the passenger said.
Several travellers reported spending hours in the airport lounge while seeking regular updates from airline staff.
“Operational issues can happen, but passengers should be kept informed. Many people were travelling with families and elderly members,” said another passenger.
Some travellers also expressed concern over missing scheduled appointments and engagements upon arrival in Srinagar.
Airport authorities did not immediately comment on the cause of the delay. Airline staff informed passengers that the flight would depart once operational clearances were completed.
The delay affected dozens of passengers on the Delhi–Srinagar route, one of the busiest air corridors connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country. (KNS)
