“Highly Unfortunate and Unacceptable”: Sakeena Itoo on Budgam Incident | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo on Sunday visited the bereaved family of the 12-year-old girl allegedly raped and murdered in Galwanpora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district, expressing condolences and assuring full government support.

During the visit, the Minister met the family members and expressed deep sorrow over the incident, assuring them that the government stands firmly with them during this difficult time and would extend all possible assistance.

Condemning the incident, Itoo termed it highly unfortunate and unacceptable in a civilised society. She said those responsible must be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law and called for exemplary punishment for the accused.

She reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victim and providing all necessary support to the affected family.

MLA Pampore, Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi, and MLA Zainapora, Showkat Hussain Ganie, accompanied the Minister during the visit.
