Srinagar, May 14: Authorities in Lolab on Thursday demolished illegally constructed structures linked to an accused booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act as part of the ongoing 100-day “Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan.”

Officials said the action was carried out jointly by the Tehsildar Sogam Lolab and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Lolab against properties belonging to Fayaz Ahmad Mir, son of Nazir Ahmad Mir of Diver Anderbugh.

The accused is currently lodged in jail in connection with FIR No. 90/2023 registered under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act.

According to officials, the structures had allegedly been raised illegally on Kahcharai land and were subsequently demolished during the enforcement drive.

The administration said the anti-drug campaign will continue across the region and reiterated a zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and substance abuse.
