HED Announces FYUGP Admissions; Registration to Open on May 9 | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has announced the commencement of admissions for Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUGP) and integrated postgraduate courses for the 2026–27 academic session across all government degree colleges.

According to an official notification issued by the Directorate of Colleges, the admission process will be conducted through a centralised online portal, covering more than 60 subjects across 142 colleges in the Union Territory. Admissions will be granted strictly on the basis of merit in the Class 12 examination.

The online registration and preference-filling process will begin on May 9 and conclude on May 27. The first merit list will be released on May 30, with admission formalities scheduled between June 1 and June 6.

The second merit list is set to be published on June 9, followed by admissions from June 10 to June 15. A special spot round to fill vacant seats will be conducted from June 18 to June 25.

Classwork in winter zone colleges will commence from June 15, while summer zone colleges will begin academic sessions from July 15.

Applicants are required to upload scanned copies of essential documents, including Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, domicile certificate where applicable, passport-sized photographs, Aadhaar details and category certificates. A non-refundable registration fee of Rs 200 has been fixed.

The department has advised students to carefully fill in their preferences and seek assistance from designated counselling and facilitation centres set up in degree colleges across Jammu and Kashmir. Detailed guidelines and the registration process are available on the official admission portal.
