Delhi HC grants one-week interim bail to Baramulla MP Er Rashid to visit ailing father

Srinagar: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday granted one week’s interim bail to Baramulla Member of Parliament Abdul Rashid Sheikh to enable him to meet his ailing father, who is currently hospitalised.

Sheikh had moved the High Court seeking temporary relief after his plea for interim bail was earlier rejected by the trial court. The High Court allowed the request, taking note of the medical condition of his father.

The court directed that the interim bail would be subject to Sheikh furnishing a bail bond of Rs. 1 lakh along with one surety in the like amount.

The relief is limited to one week, after which Sheikh will be required to surrender before the competent court as per the conditions laid down in the order.
