NIFT Srinagar kicks off Spectrum 2026 sports festival

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Srinagar, commenced its Annual Sports & Cultural Festival, Spectrum 2026, on April 29, 2026, at its Ompora Campus, Budgam.

The two-day event, as per a statement issued on Wednesday, is themed “Vismay – The Escape of Imagination”, reflecting the institute’s commitment to creativity, innovation, and holistic development.

The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, in the presence of Hariprasad K. K., IPS, SSP Budgam ( Guest Of Honour ) and Dr Monika Gupta, Director NIFT Srinagar.

Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries appreciated the initiative of NIFT Srinagar in providing a vibrant platform for youth engagement, inter-institutional collaboration, and cultural exchange. The Director NIFT Srinagar, Dr Monika Gupta, highlighted the importance of extracurricular activities in fostering creativity, discipline, and unity among students.

The festival has witnessed participation from various schools and colleges across Kashmir and features a range of sports, cultural, and literary events aimed at promoting talent and strengthening social cohesion among the youth.

Spectrum 2026 reflects NIFT Srinagar’s continued efforts towards inclusivity and cultural integration in the region.
