The camp was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, Controller of Examinations and Registrar of the University of Kashmir, who lauded the initiative and underscored the need for community-based healthcare programmes to improve access to specialised medical services.

Prominent chest physicians, including Dr Rajinder Singh, Dr Naveed Nazir Shah, Dr Naeem Firdous, Dr Arshid, and Dr Mir Faisal, participated in the camp and provided expert consultations to patients.

The camp witnessed a significant public response, with nearly 250 patients availing specialist consultations and diagnostic services for ailments such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung infections and allergic disorders.

Free medicines were distributed among patients requiring immediate treatment and follow-up care. Diagnostic facilities including chest X-ray, pulmonary function tests (PFT), forced oscillation technique (FOT) and routine laboratory investigations were also provided on the spot.

Respiratory therapists conducted live demonstrations on proper inhaler techniques and the use of respiratory devices, while also educating patients on long-term disease management.

Officials said the camp was supported by Paras Health Srinagar through dedicated nursing staff, monitoring of vital parameters and overall clinical coordination.

Clinical Psychologist DrMadeeha also provided counselling and mental health support to patients, addressing psychological aspects alongside physical health concerns.

JKACP reiterated its commitment to strengthening public health outreach, early diagnosis and improving access to specialised pulmonary care across Jammu and Kashmir through such initiatives.
