15 passengers died in Udhampur Accident.
Udhampur Accident: At least 15 passengers died and 20 others sustained injuries Monday morning when a bus plunged down a hillside in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred at approximately 10 am while the vehicle was navigating a sharp curve near Kagort village in the Ram Nagar sector.
Local residents initiated the primary rescue efforts, working to extricate survivors from the mangled remains of the bus before emergency services arrived. Official reports confirmed that the bus was traveling toward Udhampur from a remote village when the driver lost control at a blind turn.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh affirmed that the local administration is coordinating medical relief and rescue operations. He stated that arrangements are being finalized to transport the most critically injured victims to specialized facilities via airlift.
“The rescue operation has been immediately undertaken. All possible assistance is being provided,” Singh declared in a public statement. He maintained that he is in regular communication with Udhampur Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa to monitor the evacuation process.
