
SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir has secured the third position nationally under Mission Karmayogi during SĀDHANA Saptah, marking a significant milestone in strengthening competency-based governance and continuous learning among civil servants.
The recognition reflects the Union Territory’s structured implementation of reforms under the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPCSCB), with a focus on role-based training, competency mapping and extensive use of the iGOT Karmayogi digital platform.
According to official data, 2,01,962 officials from Jammu and Kashmir have been onboarded on the platform, completing a total of 4,13,722 courses. Of these, 2,74,511 were AI-related courses. In addition, 54,003 employees have completed more than one hour of learning, while 37,309 have exceeded four hours, indicating sustained engagement with the programme.
The award was conferred during the SĀDHANA Saptah Facilitation Ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions DJitendra Singh presided over the event and felicitated top-performing States, Union Territories and institutions. Commissioner/Secretary, General Administration Department, M Raju, received the award on behalf of the Jammu and Kashmir government.
In a parallel achievement, the Jammu and Kashmir Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (JKIMPARD) received a special award for becoming the first institution in the country to complete Capacity Building Plans across all departments, setting a national benchmark in implementing Mission Karmayogi objectives.
During SĀDHANA Saptah, the Union Territory administration ensured structured participation through designated nodal officers and monitored completion of prescribed learning hours on the iGOT platform in line with NPCSCB guidelines. The Chief Secretary regularly reviewed progress to ensure effective implementation.
The recognition highlights the government’s focus on building a more competent, accountable and citizen-centric civil service in line with the objectives of Mission Karmayogi Bharat.
