The drive was carried out under the supervision of Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Rajesh Gupta, with active participation from the Station House Officer (SHO) and joint teams comprising transport inspectors, sub-inspectors, and police personnel.

During the operation, authorities took action against e-autos operating without valid documents, without driving licences, and those found violating prescribed route permits. Several vehicles entering Rajouri from other tehsils and operating illegally were also seized on the spot.

Officials also penalised e-autos fitted with unauthorized modifications, including extra seating arrangements and illegal sound systems, terming them clear violations of transport regulations.

Officials stated that such practices not only breach provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act but also pose serious risks to passenger safety and contribute to traffic congestion in urban areas.

Speaking to reporters, ARTO Rajesh Gupta said the department has been receiving repeated complaints regarding unauthorized e-auto operations, particularly from vehicles coming from outside tehsils. He added that strict enforcement drives will continue in the coming days to ensure compliance with traffic rules and to maintain smooth traffic regulation.

Authorities have warned all e-auto operators to strictly adhere to transport norms, stating that further violations will invite stringent legal action under applicable laws.
